Tuesday 13th March - Saturday 31st March open to the public

As Great Britain prepares for a year of patriotic celebration, with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics marked firmly on the calendar, Dogs in Art at Stockbridge Gallery in Hampshire, is celebrating great British icons of the four-legged kind!

'Dog GB - A Celebration of Our British Dogs' is a month-long exhibition featuring the works of premier canine portraiture artist Claire Eastgate and canine sculptor Rosemary Cook. This is the first time the two leading British talents have exhibited together and they are delighted to showcase the very best of our British Breeds. Starting with private viewings for the press and invited guests on Sunday 11th and Monday 12th March, the exhibition opens to the public from Tuesday 13th March.

Topping the plinths and filling the floor space at the show will be an impressive array of beautiful bronzes by the renowned animal sculptor Rosemary Cook. 'Brahms', a life sized Cairn Terrier, leads the collection which ranges from miniatures to life size sculptures representing the largest collection of Rosemary's work in Europe.

Victoria Armstrong, owner and curator of Stockbridge Gallery - Dogs in Art, commented: "2012 is undoubtedly a big year for all things British and it's highly appropriate that we join the celebrations and showcase some of the wonderful breeds from the four corners of Great Britain. All the works in the show are true classics and follow in the great British tradition of dog portraiture which began in the 18th century and went on to become hugely popular during the 19th century in the reign of my namesake, Queen Victoria".
